I am a trained coastal scientist and carbon biogeochemist with nearly a decade of experience studying marine and coastal ecosystems, specializing in blue carbon and greenhouse gas dynamics across tidal marshes, tidal forests including mangroves, seagrass systems, and inland wetlands.

I am currently an Associate in Blue Carbon Science at Silvestrum Climate Associates, where I work at the intersection of rigorous science and real-world conservation outcomes —translating research into actionable strategies for carbon markets, ecosystem monitoring, and restoration across coastal and inland wetland ecosystems.

I completed my PhD in Earth Science at UC Santa Barbara in the Raven NOISE Lab, where my doctoral research investigated sulfur-carbon interactions in blue carbon ecosystems including mangroves and salt marshes. Prior to that, I earned my MSc in Geology from UC Davis in the Ocean Climate Lab, studying carbon sequestration in California seagrass meadows.

My work spans international fieldwork coordination, stakeholder engagement, multi-institutional collaboration, and science communication. I am skilled in geospatial analysis, statistical modeling, and large-scale data workflows using R, Python, ArcGIS Pro, and QGIS.

Outside of work, you'll find me running, surfing, skiing, or cooking.

I also co-host the Ocean Solutions Podcast, a Spotify podcast exploring ocean science, careers, and climate solutions. Now in its third season, the podcast features conversations with scientists, policymakers, and ocean practitioners about their work and the paths that brought them there. It's one of the most rewarding things I do — a chance to give back to the ocean science community and share the diversity of careers this field has to offer.
